I have been a Township Trustee elected to the Northfield Township Board – currently serving in a second 4 year term. I am a member on the Northfield Township Zoning Board of Appeals. Prior to being an elected official, I was appointed the Blue Skies Advisory Committee for 4 years and co-authored the Northfield Township SWOT Analysis.
I am a wife, mother to adult children, a step-mother to 3 adult children, a grandmother to 11 wonderful grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 5 active young children. Whitmore Lake has been our home for over 17 years. As a native to Michigan, I was born in Detroit and spent most of my childhood on a small farm outside of Blissfield, MI in Lenawee County. A community much like Whitmore Lake.
I am a member of NorthRidge Church and have worked in children's ministries for over twenty years. I am a past member of the Kiwanis Club of Whitmore Lake for over 10 years, Past Chair of the Whitmore Lake 4th of July Parade Committee for over 7 years, and Past Chair the Annual Kiwanis Christmas Tree Sales for 8 years. I was one of the founders of Feeding His Sheep over 10 years ago - the One Red Backpack Weekend Food program, that was sponsored by Ann Arbor Salvation Army, serving over 200 families in Washtenaw County. For over five years, the program was brought to Whitmore Lake Elementary School and the Early Childhood Center - serving over 45 families. I currently collaborate on the Health Equity Leadership Team in Whitmore Lake. which just recently brought a COVID testing site to the former Whitmore Lake Middle School on Main Street, help with establishing a free clinic in Whitmore Lake. I have been on the Parks and Recreation Committee and brought the first DNR Grant (totaling $350K) to the township to jump start the development of the Northfield Township Community Park in the summer of 2023. Since then, I assisted in two other grants to help acquire playscapes and shading within the park.
With an MBA in Finance from Walsh College with honors, a Bachelor Degree in Marketing from the University of Phoenix and corporate executive leadership, my qualifications provide a good foundation to carry the fiduciary responsibilities and board decisions within the township.
I have over 10 years of experience participating on state and regional non-profit boards in a leadership capacity that had private, state and federal funding. I have over 20 years of experience in corporate leadership roles in new business development, business expansions, and operational effectiveness. Currently, I have executive leadership over the Medicaid BPO operations for the State of Michigan, Department of Health and Human Services, managing all aspects of operations, state funding and governance.
As an incumbent, I bring experience as a seasoned trustee and as an experienced Treasurer. I will continue to work cohesively with the board to make sure the right strategies are in place to make our community thrive, without affecting the service levels or fiscal state of our township.

My CommitmentAs your experienced Township Treasurer, I have a fiduciary responsibility to you, the voters. You are entitled to an elected official that provides the best judgement, full transparency, unwavering ethics and integrity. By accepting the office, township officials are “bound to exercise such judgement and to use their best exertions for the public good regardless of their own [agenda].” (11 Mich 222). Therefore, as a Township Board member, I have no right to place my own interests above those of the public. For the next four years, I plan to finish what I started…continue to move the township forward economically, continue to engage in township business with integrity and always act for the benefit and in best interest of Northfield Township - Farm and Lake.

The number one goal is to finish the job that I started back in 2012, elected as a Township Trustee. Then in 2021, I was appointed to Township Treasurer. The township was stagnate for over twenty years – with no development, struggles between the Agricultural and Lake areas, and lack of infrastructure and minimal capitalization improvements. For me, failing to plan is planning to fail. For the past eleven years, I have rolled up my sleeves using the current resources to help move the township forward - while the wheels of government are slow, consistent persistence keeps the wheels turning.
